Details for Assay 22: Inflammatory cellular response

Description
HepG2 hepatocyte cells were measured for concentrations of pro-inflammatory cytokines after being exposed to different sizes of nano and microplastics for varying amounts of time. Hepatocyte cells were cultured under appropriate conditions and then lysed. Markers of inflammation in the cell in the form of pro-inflammatory cytokines (tumor necrosis factor α, interleukin 1β, IL-6 and IL-8) were measured using a bradford assay as well as with Luminex® MAGPIX® with xPONENT® software .
