Regimen description

Hepatocyte cells were used to assess cellular uptake, cell viability, apoptosis, and inflammatory responses when exposed to various concentrations, sizes, and functionalities of nano and microplastics. The inflammatory response of the cells was determined by first exposing them to concentrations of the nano and microplastics and then measuring the concentrations of various pro-inflammatory cytokines, which can be indicative of a decrease in cell viability.
