| Ibuprofen: Fish Short‐Term Reproduction Assay with Zebrafish(Danio rerio) Based on an Extended OECD 229 Protocol | Constantine | 2020 | https://doi.org/10.1002/etc.4742 |
Study Type: in vivo
Regimen description
16 week old adult laboratory-raised Zebrafish wereexposed underflow‐through conditions to environmentallyrelevant nominal test concentrations of 0.5, 2.4, 11.5, 55.3,and 265.4 μg ibuprofen/L and a negative control (dilution water) for 35 days. The protocol differed from OECD 229 by including 5 days of embryo exposure in F1 fish.
F0 endpoints evaluated included survival, general observations, growth, reproduction (cumulative number of eggs produced, number of eggs per female reproductive day (eggs/d), andpercentage of fertility), and vitellogenin levels (head and tail homogenates). F1 fish were evalauted for hatching success, time to hatch, and gross morphology.
